Milagro Christian Church Builds Labyrinth
Pueblo, Colorado – April 27, 2015 – Just in time for World Labyrinth Day on May 2, 2015, Milagro Christian Church built a new one on the South side of town.
On Saturday, April 25, Milagro was a part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) (Disciples) Regional Mission Day. Fifteen members of Milagro and another 30 people from the Tres Valles Region of the Disciples region built the labyrinth, finished a prayer garden and spruced up the children’s playground.
“We had people from all over Colorado – the two Disciples churches in Pueblo participated (Park Hill Christian and Central Christian) as well as people from churches in Salida, Denver and Colorado Springs,” said Pastor Marnie Leinberger.
The labyrinth is a 7-circuit Creten-style labyrinth. And while most measure 15 to 30 feet across, the one at Milagro is about 60-feet wide. “The path is 36 inches wide. If there is more than one person on the labyrinth, the wider path will allow people to more easily pass one another. And we hope it will also allow people who use wheelchairs to navigate more easily,” said Leinberger
In addition to the labyrinth, the Prayer Garden at Milagro was also completed. The garden is in the shaded entryway of the church, “We are thrilled to be able to offer this labyrinth and our prayer garden to the people of Pueblo Colorado,” said Leinberger.” Anytime you are on the South side of town and need to take a moment or two for quite reflection and mediation, you are welcome.”
Milagro Christian Church is a congregation in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) denomination. It was founded in 2004. Their services are on Sunday mornings, at 10:30 a.m.
